About Me
Simon Charles Page was born in Romford, Essex in 1970 and grew up with a love of football, film, frolicking and females (the priority of the four 'F's reversed during his teenage years). After attending three different senior schools, Simon decided that it wasn't a good idea to turn up for his GCE's and bunked off to head for the workplace as a carpet fitter, only to find the YTS scheme waiting with twenty something quid a week and a clip 'round the ear for cutting carpet 'very wonky'. Simon describes the next ten years of his working life in grim fashion: 'I've worked as a telesales 'thingy' (eww), vending machine salesman (spit), insurance clerk (snore), debt collector (ouch), recruitment consultant (I liked that one) and a mortgage broker (I worked for sharks and didn't last long).' Things were to change drastically in 1996, when Simon decided to become a 'real' student and take a B.A. Hons. Theology degree somewhere outside of Essex, called 'The North'. Simon began to ask questions about this strange new land called 'The North' and was told there was something called the North-South divide. Apparently, things were so bad 'oop North', that folk were likely to be poorer, live off a diet of mushy peas and statistically, die younger. Whether that was down to the mushy peas, Simon wasn't quite sure - that was until he started to do his research. After reading about an imaginary line called the equator, Simon mistook the North-South divide (which isn't an exact line either) for the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Things seemed to match at first. After all, the Northern Hemisphere had more pollution due to population density (which Simon believed must contribute to the poor health in 'The North' and not just the mushy peas). Concerned that he might be sharing a million acres of land with a handful of infected people and the odd tiger or elephant, Simon was relieved to discover that his move to new pastures wouldn't involve a Trans-Atlantic flight, but a car journey up the M6 motorway to a grassy dwelling called Cheshire. Simon finished his degree in 1999 and until 2007, worked as a Church Minister in Merseyside and Blackpool. In more sophisticated company, Simon explained that he resided in Southport, near Royal Birkdale and when in Lancashire, he lived a few cosy miles from Royal Lytham. Simon has since been involved in a number of creative projects, patented a new invention with a good friend; launched a number of businesses and of course, written a comedy novel called 'Missing Gretyl', along with the satirical parody of David Cameron called: 'The Inside Scoop: The Secret Journal of a Prime Minister'. He has two lovely boys called Ruben and Freddie and has been married for nearly fifteen years to a beautiful lady called Solana. About Me

I am a native of the Netherlands, where I became a primary school teacher. In 1964-1865 I lived in Yorkshire for one year, studying for the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English. I received a Grad A pass.

In July 1967 I married Detlef Grothof from Germany. We have got one daughter who was born in 1973. In 1981 we moved to Switzerland. Our son-in-law is Swiss, and we have got two lovely grandsons, born in 1997 and 1998. All of us are born-again Christians. My husband and I surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ in 1974.

As a freelance translator of English, German, and Dutch I have translated twelve Christian books into German so far, and 1300+ other texts from/into English, German, or Dutch. I am a very experienced private teacher of my three main languages, offering customized lessons.

I have got strong ambitions as a writer, and several hundred texts of mine, written in German, English, or Dutch from about 1970 on, have already been published in many different countries, predominantly in small press publications and anthologies. In 1986 I self-published a booklet with Christian poems in German. My hobbies, pastimes, and interests are manifold and include reading, painting, drawing, computer, etc. On Facebook I enjoy being a member of the ACW and ACW International groups.

About Me

I'm a resident of a small community in southeastern Colorado, living in retirement contentment with my husband, Bill. My career was nursing, and my specialty in the later years was obstetrics. I used that background and my love of reading to develop Sally Nimitz, the heroine of my female sleuth series, of which there are now five published.

My awareness of who God is as Creator, Savior, and Lord, began as a child. There have been ups and downs, but never a turning away. Who I am and what I do is always under His umbrella.

I am blessed with two sons, a grandson, step-children family, and many believing friends. Life is full with the writing, flowers, walking, an active prayer group, and other miscellaneous ehdeavors.

About Me

Demented blogger, book, cheese & chocolate lover, dreamer, poet, short story writer, equal marriage supporter, mental health activist, Green Party member and vicarage lawn mower — is that enough to be going on with?

I run several blogs & websites, my personal blog at philgroom.wordpress.com, the UK Christian Bookshops Directory and its associated blog — predictably named the Christian Bookshops Blog — and, most recently (March 2015), I've set up the Christian Writers Directory, which aims to help bridge the gap between readers, writers, booksellers and publishers by providing an A-Z guide to the people who make the Christian book trade possible: the writers.

As an ACW member, you can register and be listed for half the normal subscription rate: £5 rather than £10 per year; and if you're quick off the mark and register before March 31st 2015, whilst the Directory is still under construction, your first year's listing is free.

Finally, you'll find me tweeting @notbovvered @UKCBD and @ChristianWriDi - I usually follow back, and that's a certainty if you let me know that you're a fellow ACWer :)

About Me

I've been a member of ACW for about 15 years, and used to be more involved when we met in central London.  As a child I enjoyed writing, and at different intervals of life written a variety of novels.  However, when the desire to combine my faith with fiction came together and 'Jane' was born I saw this could be a brilliant evangelist tool and believe God's promise that 'His Word never returns void".  I have only been published since 2007 after taking the step of 'going it alone' after Kingsway Publishing and a literary agent sent my books to 3 US publishers and they were rejected.  And so the 'Hearts Desire Series' was birthed based on Ps.37:3-4  with the strap line "Novels to romance your soul and spirit."  There are six projected books, the first three, 'Jane', 'Jill' and 'David' are all available from our website www.heartsdesireseries.com and in Kindle format from Amazon. You can read a sample chapter, but suggest if you want to read 'Jane' don't spoil the adventure because although each book stands alone, they do follow on, each in a two year interval starting in London in 1966.

About Me

Writing, other than for work-purposes within a civil service department, hadn't been on my agenda ... until recently.  But through a series of God-driven circumstances it's now a significant feature of my time/energies.

Having to use the self-publishing route  for spiritual-growth material to emerge in book form has also been a steep learning-curve.   However the result, in physical terms so far, has been three books:   Dialogue with a Donkey (looking at the incident involving Balaam),  Fleeces Fears and Flames (exploring the life of Gideon), and  Focusing beyond the Horizon (learning from Samuel about God's perspective).   All are listed on Amazon.

In all of this experience being sensitive to God has, and continues, to be a vital element.  Hope that this presents a 'flavour' of where things are 'at' with me at the moment ... a work in progress!
