About Me
I have known the Lord as my Savior since I was 5. Now I am 56. In all these years I have found HIM all suffient to meet my needs. My wife, Ruth and I have raise 2 wonderful children. They are now both out on their own. I have always been fascinated by good conversations. I believe that good story-telling is part of that. I have not published anything yet. I hope to refine my craft through the assistance I can receive here at ACW. I also look forward to assisting anyone else by reviewing their works. So let me know if you have anything you would like me to look over.

About Me

Between 2002 and 2007, I spent five years as a  part-time Freelance Wiriter exploring different writing formats, firstly in Orkney and then in Devon. During that time, I was a member of ACW and covered jouralism (press and radio), crossword compiling, publicity planning, hymn witing, study notes, stand-up comedy, poetry and blogging.

Returning to a full-time IT role, I supported my local church editing the weekly newsletters, designing and building their website, and organising their publicity team. I also preached regularly and lead adult and children's Bible studies.

After 2013, I developed psoriatic arthriris in my ankles, knees, wrists and one elbow, which also caused severe fatigue, so I stopped writing formally while I concentrated on having enough energy to get to work every day. However, I continued to write a personal blog and communicate with friends and family via Facebook (where I rediscovered ACW), and more recently created a blog to write about faith topics.

After medication and controlled exercise has helped to reduce the joint stiffness and general fatigue, I'm looking at returning to writing more formally, starting with crossword compiling and poetry. More ideas welcome.

About Me

I'm the author of the D.I. Costello series of murder mysteries published by Lion Fiction.

Also, for several years until recently, I wrote for the pilgrimage handbook of the (Westminster) diocese to Lourdes.

I'm currently beginning work on an exciting new project, a new series of novels, which I hope will run concurrently with the Costello books.

About Me

I am a native of the Netherlands, where I became a primary school teacher. In 1964-1865 I lived in Yorkshire for one year, studying for the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English. I received a Grad A pass.

In July 1967 I married Detlef Grothof from Germany. We have got one daughter who was born in 1973. In 1981 we moved to Switzerland. Our son-in-law is Swiss, and we have got two lovely grandsons, born in 1997 and 1998. All of us are born-again Christians. My husband and I surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ in 1974.

As a freelance translator of English, German, and Dutch I have translated twelve Christian books into German so far, and 1300+ other texts from/into English, German, or Dutch. I am a very experienced private teacher of my three main languages, offering customized lessons.

I have got strong ambitions as a writer, and several hundred texts of mine, written in German, English, or Dutch from about 1970 on, have already been published in many different countries, predominantly in small press publications and anthologies. In 1986 I self-published a booklet with Christian poems in German. My hobbies, pastimes, and interests are manifold and include reading, painting, drawing, computer, etc. On Facebook I enjoy being a member of the ACW and ACW International groups.

About Me

I am a retired primary teacher, wife of a retired minister. We are still very involved in Church life in several ways. We live in Kirriemuir in Angus in Scotland.

I have always written stories to read to children, children's talks for church, poems about life experiences and a few others. I have had one or two articles accepted for magazines but never been published.

I would like to publish poems and some of my stories. We'll see what happens. I have started going to a writers circle in Angus.

About Me

Hello:) I a member of the Southwell affiliated ACW meeting of the Reindeer writers and Nottingham Cornerstone Church. For many years I’ve supported learning in schools. After studying creative writing at Lancaster University I won a couple of short story competitions. Now, Fiona I enjoy being a freelance creative writing practitioner in diverse settings. Personally, I find writing therapeutic and produced a debut, young adult novel called, ‘Get Over It.’ This sensitively tells of the loss of a Mum by a youth and how he and his dad adapt. This was after volunteering at a local day hospice and child bereavement centre.

Then, I was published with a short story anthology ebook called, ‘The Heavenly Road Trip’. A story from this anthology was included in print at the Connect Exhibition at the Attenborough Arts Centre, Leicester University, where I deliver Lifelong Learning classes. The same contemporary Paralympic tale, called ’Still First’ went onto London and the Bermondsey Project Gallery, to be experienced as performance art, on behalf of the RNIB charity at The Perception Exhibition. The multi-sensory story was then heard as a recording, for the week following from 18th August, 2012.

An American Christian anthology publisher included my Love story in Spiritual Awakenings anthology This won the Unique Writing Publications award in 2010.

A poem written about a piece of pottery held at the Ay-ttenborough was included in a 2016 anthology called, Welcome to Leicester.  That was called, Our Picasso Dish. A line from it was projected onto a wall in Nottingham as part of a Line of Lights this year with Jo Fairfax.
