About Me

My name is Ali Hobson (or Alison if I'm being told off). I am married to the lovely David and we live in the depths of the beautiful Dorset countryside. I have just finished a degree in Applied Theology and have joined the ACW as I'm trying to explore whether God is calling me to write.

About Me

I write mainly poetry and publish under my maiden name of Stedman. My first collection Faith Hope Love was published in 1987 by New Wine Press with a foreword by Steve Chalke. Then while I was nursing with The Leprosy Mission they published The Song Of The Sparrow in 1991 with a foreword by Diana Princess of Wales. Several poems from this collection have been used in other anthologies. My third collection Raised From Dust (foreword by Wendy Craig)  has just been published in 2016 by Onwards and Upwards and released into UK book shops in April 2017.

I am married to Bill (a Baptist Minister) and we have 2 teenage boys. We moved to the Isle of Man in 2012.

About Me

I write fairytales with bite as short stories, novels and some scripts.  My favourite authors are Jane Austen, P.G. Wodehouse and Terry Pratchett.

I have had short stories published online at Shortbread Short Stories, cafelit and Alfie Dog Fiction.

I have had stories published in anthologies published by Bridge House Publishing (A Helping Hand in Alternative Renditions) and Marit Meredith (Shambelurkling).

I have also had a limerick published by Iron Press in their Limerick Nation compilation, which covers the UK in five line verse!

I am an Associate Member of the Society of Authors and am a long term subscriber to Writers' News, Mslexia, the P.G. Wodehouse Society (UK) and, of course, ACW.

I flesh out my fantasy world on my websites:-

I have only had the pleasure of being able to get to one ACW Writing Day so far (where I learned how to set up a website via Weebly!).  I hope to get to more days in due course.

About Me

I am now the wife of a Rector, which sounds very grand, but isn't really. I'm mum to my gorgeous daughter, who is three, and son, who I'm sure will be a year old before I've blinked. I'm a performance storyteller, writer and ventriloquist; I'm a church children's worker too, but I don't get paid for that! Despite a career in which I regularly make a fool of myself loudly in front of a large audience, I'm an introvert. I possess many half-finished knitting projects, several abandoned blogs and, at any given moment, at least one cold cup of tea.

About Me

I am married to Graeme with four teenage children. I love writing and find writing in a prayer journal to be very helpful. After two MAs (p/t and gained ten years apart) (Creative Writing and Children's Literature) and doing lots of jobs, including  5 years of being a carer for my mum until she passed away in May 2014, I am grateful to God that I have an agent and have now published two children's books. I am trying to use my writing gifts to further the values of the Kingdom of God and to promote Love and Justice and Compassion. My first, 'Girl with a White Dog' (Catnip) (9-12 yrs) was published in March 2014 and has been nominated for the Carnegie and other children's awards. My second 'Lucy's Secret Reindeer' (O.U.P.) (5-8 yrs) was published in Oct 2014.  My first picture book for Nosy Crow (The Fairiest Fairy), ilustrated by Rosalind Beardshaw, will be published in June 2015 and I am editing my second picture book for them. My second book for Catnip 'Dog Ears', about a young carer, should be out in April 2015, and my second book for OUP 'Lucy's Magic Snowglobe" in October 2015, so I feel very blessed and slightly run off my feet after many many years of not being published ! I am 50 in 2015 and have always wanted to be a writer, and being a late starter has made me very happy and not take naything for granted! I have completed a novel for adults which I would love to have published, but life is so busy with family life and writing children's books I have to put that in God's hands. I tweet as @Bridgeanne and have found twitter a great blessing and help to getting published.

About Me

I love writing...i tend to write more on the themes of inspiration, prayers, photos (which i take myself) and little blogs and sometimes my understanding of scripture...

i dont see myself as religious but more christian..which is the term i am comfortable with...

I love reading...but tend to read more slowly these days...maybe age is something to do with it...it will normally take me about a month now to read a book, where as in the past I could read several books a week...

i am looking to eventually publish a book, but am just a novice in this area, and so being a member of this site is a step in the right direction...and a great encouragement for me and am looking forward to growing...

About Me

I took up writing in the mistaken belief that it would be easier than a real job (it isn’t). Hence, as well as being the author of 4 novels under my own name, and ghostwriter of several more (which annoyingly pay more), and several short stories, I am also a technical writer amongst other skills.

I live in Abingdon and worship at Christ Church on Long Furlong. My homepage is at www.benjeapes.com.

About Me

I am a former History teacher turned youth leader who writes youth resources. This makes me really quite different from most ACW writers but people have been most supportive and welcoming.

I enjoy working with pre-teens as well as teenagers. My aim is to provide some depth of teaching for those who need it (leaders included) as well as a wide range of fun ideas because every youth group is different.

I recently published ‘Fit 4 Gold’, a short discipleship course which can be used with or without a sports theme. Although this was marketed through ‘More Than Gold’, it pushed me into launching my own web site which I will need for promoting other material. This will offer WinZip folders and CD discs so that I can include PowerPoints, web links and video clips. It is also easier to update material as well as being cheaper when you are just starting out.

I currently work on my own much of the time which slows me down a good deal, but it seems to be the forward for the time being. (An editor with an understanding of youth work and a similar vision would be a tremendous asset!)

About Me

I've retired from Primary School teaching since 2012. I decided to try to turn my hand to Creative Writing for the first time in my life. I attended  a 10 week adult education class. I've since joined local informal groups such as U3A Cardiff. This has been both a challenge and inspiration. I still feel I'm experimenting with  what particular genre or style suits me best.

I have enjoyed writing poetry , rhyme or free verse, if a theme or topic grabs me. I have tried some short stories and also write anecdotally, I would love to write poems and short stories for children. If only I had the time.

I also hope that there is a good sense of humour in a lot of my work. I am a committed Christian and try to write about life issues from that standpoint . I appreciate any feedback of any sort . I have put some poetry, short stories etc. on my WORDPRESS site doddmanbloghead.wordpress.com  much of it written for the U3A group I attend who tend to toss out pretty obscure themes !!

see     http://doddblogthoughts.blogspot.co.uk/ ;          recently started (Jan 2017) for personal reflections, meditations, poems and Christian thoughts
