About Me

I have been writing since my teens, mainly poetry. Retirement 15 years ago has allowed me to give more time to my interest. To date I have had several poems published in magazines and self published two collections of my work. I have tried article writing and have had two published so far. Having my words set to music was my first love and with Rev. Norman Warren (the musician) had several anthems published by Kevin Mayhew, and some Christian songs in the 70s/80s.

I am a member of The West Midlands Local writers Group, based in Leamington Spa.

John, my husband, and I have four grown-up children and five grandchildren.

About Me

I was born Margaret Christine Mary Doust in 1958 in my grandparent's home in Redhill, Surrey, England. If my father had had his way I would have been called Margaret Angela Doust. Now some of you might think those initials apt for my personality, but no doubt there would have been some stick at school. Fortunately my parents realized their error just in time.

My mother was a Radiographer and I used to love thumbing through her professional manual. Those broken bones enthralled me! My father worked as an X-Ray Engineer. My parents had four children and I was the only girl.

A definite tomboy as a child, I grew up in South West England where I played football endlessly with my brothers. This skill eventually bore fruit and I won a medal doing what my feet did best - kicking a ball.

School was not my favourite place as it meant hours sitting in a room. Most of the time I looked out of the window day dreaming. Being cooped up meant I was not outside where I felt naturally comfortable.

My favourite subject was PE and I excelled at hockey as girls were not allowed to play football at school back then.

Teachers made the comment back then that if I could have learnt on the playing field I would be a genius.

My other joy was writing. I find this interesting now, as most of it was illegible due to poor reading skills, creative spelling and a total misunderstanding of the English language.

They call it dyslexia now! But my imagination refused to be curbed by such a minor detail. Accordingly, I have written many books in my head, but only one has been published!

Since leaving school I have had a full life and in my thirties succumbed to marrying. I have three wonderful children, and my love of stories now meant I could encourage my own children to help with the plots, as we made them up at bedtime.

This love of story telling finally became a reality when my first novel was published in September 2014. So instead of kicking a ball, I took up writing and found a desire to kick words around instead, passing, dribbling and eventually scoring the winner - I hope.

I also have a very strong faith which is tested in the day to day commotion of life. This has lent itself to a 'slightly' different perspective on the world.

About Me

I was born and bred in Lancashire and from the age of 13 I always wanted to be a roving reporter.  Circumstances altered my eventual career but writing (and taking photographs) was always in my blood and my writing includes letters, articles, short stories, poems, opinions etc.   I have been lucky to have had some of these published in various newspapers and magazines and have had eight books published which can be purchased through Amazon - two children's books are also digitally produced.   My "reporting" nature sees me chatting to one and all and my hobbies include walking, gardening, baking.  I attend a C of E Church and help with Sunday School.  Being married with three grandchildren keeps me happily employed and I live peacefully in a lovely village within an hour's travel from my roots.

About Me

A founder member of ACW, I have written 24 books, the latest of which, 'It's Just You and Me Lord' is published in September 2012. In my blog 'What If ...'  [http://marionstroud.blogspot.com] I explore how taking steps of faith has influenced my writing career. I am a cross cultural trainer for Media Associates, a charity seeking to help Christians to write culturally relevant material in the spiritually 'hard' countries of the world.

About Me

I'm a resident of a small community in southeastern Colorado, living in retirement contentment with my husband, Bill. My career was nursing, and my specialty in the later years was obstetrics. I used that background and my love of reading to develop Sally Nimitz, the heroine of my female sleuth series, of which there are now five published.

My awareness of who God is as Creator, Savior, and Lord, began as a child. There have been ups and downs, but never a turning away. Who I am and what I do is always under His umbrella.

I am blessed with two sons, a grandson, step-children family, and many believing friends. Life is full with the writing, flowers, walking, an active prayer group, and other miscellaneous ehdeavors.

About Me

My husband Don and I continue to live in a rambling old farmhouse outside Aberdeen, where we raised our four children. I moved to Scotland from California in 1975 when Don and I were married - the transition was the catalyst for a life-changing encounter with God. I've written for and edited a few different publications during my working life, and freelance articles to Woman Alive and Bible study notes for BRF's Day by Day with God. I've written three books - a children's book, The Comet's Tale, which one of my sons got published with lulu.com, a devotional book called Footprints of Faith and an historical novel called Chains of Love, about Onesimus. Still waiting for publishers. I've got a couple of ideas for new novels which I've started work on, in between church commitments and frequent rendezvous with our beautiful granddaughter Felicity, and travel to LA twice a year to see my 90 year old mom and our daughter Mhairi.

About Me

I became a Christian 20 years ago and am married to a wonderful man Chris, and am blessed to have a beautiful 21 year old daughter Emma. Both of them are also Christians. I also have a twin sister. My interests are reading, writing, photography, gardening, decorating, and being at the seaside! I can't resist eating fish and chips whilst looking out to sea!

I have been a housewife and mother for the past 22 years, but the Lord is now taking me on a new journey with Him with the publishing of my first book 'Come on Church! Wake Up!'. The official release date is 8th January 2013, and is available through amazon.com and amazon.co.uk, as well as christianbooks.com.

My website www.comeonchurchwakeup.com which includes a blog, is in the final stages of development and will hopefully go live this month.

I have recently given my first testimony about how the book came to be written and published, and am hoping to be able to do more of these at events where I will have copies of my book to sell direct to those who attend.

I am looking forward to being part of ACW and to meeting new people at events, and also to discovering what the Lord is unveiling before me!
