About Me

I have written four Christian biographies - the life of Gladys Aylward, the missionary who went to China in the 1930's, George Muller, who founded childrens homes in Bristol for thousands of children, whose work was funded completely by faith, Frances Ridley Havergal, the English hymn-writer who wrote many hymns, some of which we still sing today and Mary Slessor, the Dundee born missionary who went to the Calabar, Nigeria.

About Me

I have an acting diploma from Central School of Speech and Drama, London, and a specialist teaching diploma in speech and drama from Guildhall. After a spell in live theatre and private teaching, I began running a drama group in Parkhurst prison on the Isle of Wight. This led to receiving a large grant from TVS Trust to set up a registered charity and limited company providing therapeutic arts where no facilities existed. The charity has just celebrated its 25th year. Details on www.independentarts.co.uk Writing has always been my second craft and my published work includes articles and short stories. I was converted from Judaism as a student and despite broken marriages and the death of three children, my faith remains central to my life. I now live in Haslemere and, among other things, have the honourary position of Chairman of Operations for Opera South, where I enjoy organising teaching performances for children. We have commissioned a children's opera for 2013. The world premier will take place during the Haslemere Festival in May.

About Me

I am a recently retired teacher.  I now have time to pursue many of the creative projects I had to put on hold while employed.  These include some children's story books, some meditations, some poetry and a bible study on Isaiah, particularly considering imagery used and how it fits into scripture as a whole.  I am thoroughly enjoying this time of freedom to experiment and explore.

As for other interests, I also enjoy visual art work and am trying my hand at this as well.  Two of our three daughters have a variety of special needs which have led to my involvement in advocacy, education and social services for people with these challenges.  Gardening, family, reading, church groups and a bit of travelling fill the rest of my time.

About Me

My 20th book is currently in CWR's publishing pipeline ready for Christmas 2013. I started in 1989 with biographies -  several 'ghosted' - wrote some children's books and latterly some adult devotionals for SPCK. I've written articles, poetry, local history and done many BIble notes for BRF's 'Day by Day with God' plus some for CWR's 'Inspiring Women Every Day'.

As a past committee member and Vice-President of ACW, I had to lead writing courses and workshops, which showed me how much I enjoyed helping other people's confidence to grow through their writing.  For a decade now I have led four secular writing groups and Summer Writing Days in mid-Surrey,  where I live, plus several creative writing holidays per year, mainly in Christian venues. Details of all this, and my books, can be found on www.chris-leonard-writing.co.uk

About Me

Having been a book editor for 18 years, and written a book during that time, I have recently started concentrating on writing more since having my two kids. I now write regularly for magazines and bible study guides, work with others who ask me to help them with their own books and am also developing some further book ideas of my own. I am also enjoying editing Christian books much more regularly so am open to anyone who wants to employ my editorial services too! :) My website is www.clairemusters.com and you can email me at [email protected]

I have become a pastor's wife in the last couple of years (after my husband switched professions - he used to be a music producer) and my other passions are worship and seeing people reach their potential.

About Me

I've been a member of ACW for a few years now and attend the Thames Valley Group.  More recently I've also become part of the small group who are hoping to develop an Oxfordshire group.

My writing has included articles and poetry, but recently I've concentrated more on fiction, and almost given up poetry. My novel Baby, Baby was published in 2010 and I am now working on a follow-up. I aim  to quietly challenge the assumptions of our secularised society.

I'm also an artist and my cards (from my own photos) are available from my website, www.hodgepublishing.co.uk

I've done all kind of things over time and while raising a family.  My academic background is in religious studies, art history, and social sciences. I love gardening and nature/biology and have 4 cats. And that is in addition to my involvement in our local church.

About Me

Clive was born on the 20th March 1943 in Shrewsbury and was named after Lord Robert Clive (Clive of India) who has a statue in the town square. Clive’s schooling began at Meole Brace School then following moves: two schools in Tredegar; and finally Canton High School, Cardiff.

Clive had a career in computing for over 40 years attaining MBCS CITP AMBCS status. This resulted in him working for many companies and living in different parts of the United Kingdom.

Clive was fourteen when he heard the ‘Magic Camel’, nonsense story and has been telling the story ever since. This encouraged him to develop his own stories for his work with children, young people, and also adults.

Clive spent a major part of his spare time involved with children and youths in various organisations the main one being Boys’ Brigade. Clive had the occasional visits to schools to promote the youth activities by taking school assemblies.

At a Christian conference a number of years ago Clive shared a couple of his stories with others over dinner, and a minster said he should write them down and publish them. Clive finally decided to start this in 2013 when he published, ‘Clive the Magic Camel at the Zoo’.

Clive stories are enjoyed by all ages and had to make a decision on the age group for his books. He finally decided to write each story as a reader for those in the earlier stages of reading, thinking that the appeal of the short stories would encourage them to finish the book and read it often. Each story has a moral and the story can also be read to younger children by displaying the illustrations to keep them interested, or to older groups to aid discussions on the moral.

Clive has been visiting schools reading his published books, and running Story Building classes and workshops. These have currently been mainly with Key Stages 1 and 2. Clive uses A4 illustrations for small groups and PowerPoint for larger groups and assemblies.

Clive has also been involved with: Key Stage 3 classes in secondary schools covering the whole process of story development, through writing and publication; toddler groups; adult meetings e.g. W.I.; Church services, and Christian outreach events.

Clive is available for: Book Readings; Story Writing classes; Book Signings; Literary events; Public Speaking.

About Me

Born in 1958 in Liverpool, England. I was taught by the same English teacher as John Lennon, albeit years later, at Dovedale Road School. I am married and have three grown up boys. My wife Julie is a nurse.

I wrote my first indie novel, The Kestrel Strategy in 2011. The Metasis Strategy followed a year later. The Wrendian - Absolution, was completed in August 2014. My latest novel, The Wrendian - Red Corn, was completed May 2015.

Part of the proceeds from sales go to my fathers church, St Agnes. A church that taught me right from wrong. How to respect religion but question the various beliefs. It also taught me there's only good and evil on this earth regardless of which religious doctrine people follow.

I am honoured you have taken the time to read this and I thank you for your interest.

Colin B Leonard.
